A lot of the dual-timeline historical fiction I’ve read bounces back and forth from the past to the present day, so I like that Fiona Davis sometimes chooses two historical time periods. In this one, I think she did a particularly good job capturing the styles of the 80s with all its spiral perms and neon colors. I liked both heroines a lot and didn’t tire of either’s story. I also enjoyed hearing the then and now-ish surrounding this historic apartment building.
