Since I live in Idaho and am familiar with the area where it took place, I thought it was a great fit! However, if you haven’t been to Coeur d’Alene, I can see where it might not fit.

I loved the scene where Sloane and Greg “meet” in the elevator. What was your favorite scene from the book?

I think it was both happy and sad, in the way real life is. Arthur is reunited with his old friend, only to learn that he is dying. On the other hand, Arthur is surrounded and supported by people who love him unconditionally.

I agree with Tammy and Laura. This is a wonderful, heart-warming story. But if the idea is to get a sense of place when reading the books for the challenge, then this one is probably not a great fit.

I found some discussion questions at the back of the book I took out of the library. Thought I’d share this one here: “In your opinion, is the ending to the book more happy or sad? As a reader, what are you meant to take away from it?”

I didn’t get a sense of the location. At one point I went back to the Challenge List because I couldn’t remember where it took place. However, I enjoyed the book. It was clever the way the characters all came together.

The book took place in Idaho, but I don’t think the setting was central to the story.

The characters were wonderfully developed.
I loved looking through the eyes of a different narrator in each chapter.

It should stay on the list.
