I think I’m the odd one out. My book club picked this to read this month so I knew I would love it, but I didn’t. It started out very strong with some mystery and interesting characters. I liked the writing style, too. But as it went on I thought the story progressed too quickly and the characters lost the charm and intrigue that they originally held. When it was finished I felt I missed out on too much of their lives. It hadn’t kept the connection that I had in the first half of the story. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the book, I just didn’t love it like I wanted to.

I picked it up because it crosses over two of my reading challenges this month. Also blown away! It was a sweet little story; the slice of lifeness to it, with its no-fuss style applied to the complications of living a life. Loved it. Didn’t realize there‘s a movie!

I read this last year and enjoyed it as well. Still need to watch the movie to see how accurately it reflects the book.
