						<p>I’m surprised that I loved this book so</p>
<p>much! It was beautifully written. I found myself thinking about what I would have done in the same situation as Isabelle. I cannot even imagine keeping a child once I found out who the mother was. Also, I thought Tom should have had more backbone and done the right thing, although I truly understand his love for Isabelle compelled him once he saw her joy in being a mother.</p>

						<p>I read this book for a challenge in 2023.  Although it started slowly, it really pulled me in as Tom begins to struggle with their choices/actions. AND Isabelle did not want to give up “her” child.</p>
<p>It made me sad that they ended up separated in prison, but they did deserve the punishment.</p>
