Major reading slump Hi I have had a very bad reading year due to some personal circumstances. I need an exciting read that will bring me back to my love of reading. At the moment I’m listening to Fairy Tale by Stephen King and slowing reading We keep the dead close by Becky Cooper. I’d love a mystery or thriller to put me back on track. Any recommendations would be loved.

Hiking memoirs I just finished waypoints by Sam Heughan (the actor from outlander) and loved it! It was a journey of self discovery as he walked the 96 miles of the great highland way in Scotland. I have also read and enjoyed a walk in the woods by bill Bryson (about the Appalachian trail) and wild by Cheryl stayed (about the pacific coast trail). Any other suggestion for similar reads?

Books Set in California For some states, it's hard to find enough highly-rated books for Read Around the USA. For big states, we have the opposite problem and it's hard to narrow them down. Do you have a book that stands out in your mind as being the best book that has transported you to California? Share it here and let us know why it should make the list!
