        The dual-timeline was very effective in making connections between the Shirtwaist Fire and the events of 911.  The marigold scarf was a beautiful symbol of this connection.
        I knew nothing about the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire prior to reading this book.  This is why I love historical fiction!!

          I’m listening to it and I’m about 2/3 of the way through.  I’m at the part where Clara is finally venturing off the island with the help of Dr. Randall.

              I agree! I loved this book and learned a lot. I’ve read several of Susan Meissner’s books now and feel like she does a masterful job of making connections between eras. And I always learn.
