Did you you enjoy the hole book being letters and only to sister?

I found at times I would have liked part of the daily life being story with journal style letters being thrown in along with it? What did all of you think of it only being letters from her?
I really loved the book and the stories and I felt I learned a lot about Jewish life in a new Cuban country for her? How did you feel did it seem like it was real in even a fiction story ?

Loved reading the authors notes at the end of the book I really felt like I understood where and how the story came from. the author travels to and from Cuba several times putting the story together.

I was surprised I didn’t think it was easy to travel back-and-forth to that country?
