Reply To: Great stories full of plot twists.

Overall, I enjoyed the book very much.  I haven’t read many books that centered around WWI. Like Elsi, I wasn’t aware how much the French citizens suffered in WWI.  When the story first switched to Liv, I found it very jarring and it took me awhile to get caught up in Liv’s story.  As you have all mentioned, it was not a quick read but I’m glad that I took the time to finish it.
