This book narrates a murder , a mystery and a continuing feud between two Montana Powder River basin families ( the Coopers and the McKennas ) of eastern Montana . It’s set in the present time and has a bit of romance in it too.
While A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT by Norman McClean is set in the Blackfoot River basin of northwestern Montana during the 1930’s ,where the fly fishing for bigger fish is obviously better . However , the Blackfoot basin family’s story has a bleaker ending than the Powder River basin family . So I chose to read it instead . . . A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT is a DNF for me . What’s your opinion of this author’s book ?
