“olden” days of the SS

I could not believe how little they had for a daily stipend. I know the dollar went further but that was so little.

And they had very little backup or help. Schedules were rough & how hard on his own family.

When you read something like this from our relatively recent history it really puts a spotlight on how many modern inventions & technologies we count on daily — much less in a highly dangerous job like this!
