    • Knowledge about forced sterilization I knew a little bit about forced sterilization, but before reading this book, I had no idea of the full extent of how pervasive this horrific practice was.  I had no knowledge about the lawsuit at all. Did you know anything about this era with regards to this topic? I am a fairly well read, educated person.  I just wonder why we don't know these awful things happened in our not so distant past.

    • Too involved? Do you think Civil got too involved in the lives of the Williams? There was an undertone that suggested this in the way her father and Mrs Williams kept telling her to live her own life and think about herself.
