I agree it was quite brash.  I considered the history for him that his grandad and dad had both pined (heh heh) for that land.  That longing was deeply ingrained.  I was annoyed that he took so long to tell Colleen. It got so stressful to wonder how he was going to make each payment.

I learned something about the ups and downs of the logging industry and the seasonal aspect of income.
