Was this book a good fit for the Book Voyage Challenge?

I thought it was a good choice for Australia to get a sense of the history of the convicts, the English governance, and how the aboriginals were treated.  It was an engaging read.

Homecoming was really a beautifully written glimpse into Australia. Morton gave the reader the city, and the county. The wealthy and the poor. While a difficult read, a bit too long in my opinion, it’s definitely worth reading. Keep it on the list.

                  I agree a bit long.

I thought it was a great choice for Australia!  It included a lot of history and way of life that I have read little about.  It reminded me slightly of a classic I had read called Picnic at Hanging Rock….I did like how the classes mixed and the country aspect of the story.
