        It seems crazy that Elsa didn’t know who these people were all along. Why did Granny wait until she died?

          I think Granny wanted Elsa to feel special in that Granny’s only job was to be her Granny. Once the connections to others in the building were revealed, Elsa would never again be able to think of Granny as just her Granny.
