I needed this easy, light read after several heavier reads.  Since this is first in the series, I always struggle with do I continue.

what is your preference?  Do you always read a series or can you be one and done?

I love books that are written in a series. This allows you to really get to know that characters, the community. While that is true, there are books in a series that I have not gone on beyond the first book.

I really liked The Cure for the Common Breakup and the community of Black Dog, so I went on and read book #2 New Uses for Old Boyfriends already. I have the 3rd book on my list to read next!

              How did book 2 compare?

It was totally different, but still good. The winery crew plays a decent role in addition to new characters.

Somehow I missed that this is part of a series! Now I want to read the next one. It was a light, fun read and just what I was looking for at this time. I do typically like to continue with a series, especially if I have enjoyed the writing and characters. I can be disappointed and not ready to say goodbye when I finish a one and done book.

I am definitely going to keep reading, probably not right away but it will be fun to return to Black Dog Bay when I need a break.

This is what I was thinking.  I don’t need to read the next one right now, but it will be a fun book series to return to.

I also was not aware it was a series.  May return to to it later as it was an enjoyable read.

I agree about liking to see how lives of characters continue! I want more of this series and these people. That isn’t to mean I have always continued a series or loved every book in a series.

I very much enjoy reading books in a series, particularly when the reader is able to get to know characters that were “bit players” or minor characters in previous books. Thank you for reminding me that this was indeed part of a series. I will put the other books on my, extremely long, “to read” list.
