Have you finished How the Penguins Saved Veronica? I gave it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 on Goodreads. I thought this was a sweet book, but I wanted more character development and background on each person. It also required a stretch of imagination to think that an elderly woman would really be allowed to go the the Antarctic station. But, I loved reading about the work with the penguins, the relationship with her grandson, and had some laugh-out-loud moments and shed some tears. All good things when reading a story.

I haven’t finished it yet. I picked it up on a whim after I finished my book for the ICYMI challenge (and was less than impressed with that one).

So far, I’m loving it. Farfetched, absolutely, but I love this woman’s spunk. The book reminds me a bit of The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared. I think I enjoy geriatric main characters with sass!
