I read this book a while ago and it had a profound effect on me.  I knew little about the experiences of the Indian children being placed in schools.  I also watched the movie on Netflix which was very close to the book.  My heart broke for Saul Indian Horse.

I choose “Indian Horse” as I thought it would be a good book to read being from Ontario.  Years ago I would go fishing up in White River, not realizing that there had been a residential school there.  I enjoyed this book and learned quite a bit.

Oh, I always forget that the movie exists! I’m glad to hear it was well done. I need to confirm if my husband wants to read the book first or if he’s ready to watch it with me. I read this one last year and  it brought so many emotions. -Melissa
