Was this book a good fit for the Read Around the USA Challenge?

Yes, this book should stay on the list.  It is an engaging story.  It depicts life in this period of time for a wealthy family. It appears well researched and bonus shows contributions of a strong woman!

Yes I believe it should. Although I didn’t care for the book…I wanted facts…it was quite entertaining and told a lot about the area in which it was set.

I enjoyed this book, and it should stay on the list. These are the kind of books that give you enough history to get you researching more on your own.
