Hi!
I just started this book for the January read. I’ve read a few of the author’s other books and love the worlds and characters she creates. I look forward to reading about these four friends and discussing the story with others.

I just finished the book! I chose it because I enjoy novels about female friendship, especially friendship sagas that span a long period of time. Also, I decided to participate in this reading challenge to discover new authors and read some books that are a bit outside my comfort zone (or at least are a departure from what I normally read). I haven’t read too many books that are set in India, and I had heard good things about Thrity Umrigar as an author, so those were deciding factors, too.

In the last few years, I’ve really enjoyed reading books set in India. The Space Between Us, and The Secrets Between Us, by the same author, are very good too. I actually liked those books better than this one. If you liked reading this book, I’d recommend the others!

- I have much the same reasons as Christine for choosing this book. I love discovering new authors and learning about countries I am not too familiar with. Female friendships and sisters relationships also are topics I enjoy reading about. Heidi

I chose this book because I enjoyed another book I previously read by this author. And while I enjoyed that book more (The Space Between Us) this book held its own.

I read this book several years ago when I won it in Goodreads giveaway! I gave it 3 stars. I enjoy reading about cultures with which I am not so familiar. As I recall, the Indian culture and background was very interesting to me and the themes of friendship, love and justice were universal and relatable. I can’t really remember the ending, but reading these comments leads me to believe that’s why, for me, it was just average.
