When I got to the point of Marion disclosing her Parkinson’s Disease, I was extra emotional knowing that Fiona Davis was also diagnosed in recent years. I loved Marion’s determination to keep doing as much as she could, but I wondered about all the complex emotions that must have gone into writing this part of the plot. What did you think about this aspect of the story and writing?

When I saw her notes at the end, mentioning her own diagnosis, I was shocked. A little scared, for her. I’ve seen this firsthand, not good. I’ll pray for her continued good health. Selfishly praying for more NYC stories as well .!

            • I did not see this in her notes. I went back and reread the notes, and found nothing about  F Davis having Parkinson’s.  ???

Her mention of her own diagnosis is buried in the 2nd to last paragraph of the author’s note. She references the Michael J Fox Foundation being a great resource for her own diagnosis.

She’s done one article about it online that I’m aware of if you’re interested in learning more. We link to it in the author bio section of our Fiona Davis author guide: https://bookgirlsguide.com/fiona-davis-books/

She really buried it in the notes! In my copy, it’s the 2nd to last paragraph. She refers to the Michael J Fox Foundation being helpful when she received her diagnosis.

We have a Fiona Davis author guide (https://bookgirlsguide.com/fiona-davis-books/ ) and toward the end in the author bio section we link to an article to wrote about her diagnosis if you’re interesting in learning more.

It’s only one sentance, second to the last paragraph in the author’s note (at least my edition). She says that the Michael J Fox foundation was a great resource when she was diagnosed. I probably would have missed it if I wasn’t specifically looking for the reference. We have an author guide for her that includes a link to a great article she wrote about her diagnosis if you’re interested! https://bookgirlsguide.com/fiona-davis-books/

Wow, I missed this in the notes as well.  That is heartbreaking!

I wondered if maybe there was something therapeutic for her writing that…..I thought it was heartwarming that at the end her love stayed by her side.
