Do you think this book was a good fit for the Read Around the USA Challenge?

Definitely should be on the list. Set in New York City, Radio City Music Hall is an institution. I loved this story. Having seen the Rocketttes perform there, I could visualize the theater as I read. It’s definitely a keeper for this prompt.

While reading I kept thinking that I can’t believe I’ve been to NYC four times and never seen the Rockettes. We always do at least one Broadway show, but I don’t think we’ve ever even considered the Rockettes. What an oversight!

You should definitely go see them. Just for the theater experience alone. But I loved it…and we were in the nose bleed seats!

Yes! NYC is part of the U.S.A.! If I could, I would fit a Fiona Davis novel in every book list!

Absolutely! This was one of my favorite reads of the challenge and my top Fiona Davis book so far. She pulled me right into this fantastic setting of 1950s, NYC with all of the glamour and grit of the Rockettes. The story and characters kept me super engaged too. I highly recommend keeping this one around.

Absolutely.  This book is a great book for both the location and the time period. I only discovered FionaDavis because of this group but I’ve now read almost all of her books. I think The spectacular is my favourite. I found the author’s note at the end very interesting.

Definitely! A NYC institution! I have only seen the Rockettes here in MN. I need to check them out in NY!

Definitely!  It was one of my favorite reads so far.  I am going to NYC at the end of the month and I just told my family we have to go see Radio City Music Hall now!

Absolutely!!  I think the history of New York really makes New York unique.  We do not want to lose that history.  What happened in NY often spread to other parts of the country with ideas etc…

Yes, entertaining, fast, easy read and I learned something new. Can’t get better than that.  It did have its flaws, but overall it was good.
